Walking

Walking is a silent four-hour walk through the dramatic landscape of Terschelling Island, off the northern Dutch coast. It was commissioned by the 2008 Oerol Festival as a site-specific experimental event. In this collaboration between Wilson and two Dutch artists, Theun Mosk and Boukje Schweigman, festival participants walked at a slow pace through the striking landscape of Terschelling's pastures, woodlands, sand dunes and beaches.
In 2012, the Norfolk & Norwich Festival and London 2012 Festival commissioned a revival of Walking, to be installed at Holkham Estate, North Norfolk.
